Fan MailThe Rapid Ray’s website officially launched in January of 2005, and we’ve gotten a lot of fan mail over the years. We don’t have a chance to respond to every message in our inbox, but rest assured we do read every single one! Here is a collection of some of our favorites. My father was head mechanic for the Saco Street Department during the late 50’s and most of the 60’s, and each one of his boys worked plowing snow. I must tell you, Ray was a true blessing for a pick me up late at night. Ray was the most amazing man to do what he did and he will always be a true staple for the city of Saco. I just thought I'd let you know you now officially have the best steamed hot dogs in New England. Why, you might ask? Because a New England Hot Dog Staple has closed its doors for good after 88 long years! Elliot's Famous Hot Dogs of Lowell MA said 'so long' to its stead-fast customers this past Friday on Halloween. Since 1920 they cooked up steamed hot dogs at 3 locations in north eastern MA. It's sad to see it go, they truly were a class act!! I love your hot dogs as well but please hold the celery salt." "Loved the pics of the 'old' days, I remember very well standing out in the cold while Ray whipped up the burgers and always had a kind word for everyone there. Actually got a little teary eyed about the ID cards from the St Francis college kids because I was one of them! I will never forget Ray's generosity, God bless his soul! "A loyal customer whenever I'm in town!" "I love your food so much..." "Hi. Nice to see your web-site! I often tell friends little anecdotes about my time working for Ray and Lill in the early 80's. I learned so much about serving the public and how to dress a hotdog as fast as Ray could fling it. My first son was born during one of my night shifts and I remember rushing to the hospital when my wife went into labor and after, coming back and eating at least 4 cheeseburgers after the excitement subsided. We had quite a crew and it was one of the most fun, rewarding and memorable jobs I've had. I learned many lessons that have helped me in my own businesses and career over the years.
